DALLAS — The Foundation for Advancing Security Talent (FAST) today released the 2024 Security Industry Compensation Study.

This comprehensive report “provides an in-depth analysis of compensation practices, including salaries, bonuses, benefits, and other emerging trends within the security industry,” according to the foundation announcement.

To prepare the 2024 Security Industry Compensation Study, FAST partnered with the Security Industry Association (SIA), the Electronic Security Association (ESA), PSA Security Network and Security Sales & Integration.

The report “covers a wide range of roles within the security industry, including insights into the most sought-after positions and emerging trends in employee benefits,” according to the foundation announcement.

“It is expected to serve as a vital tool for companies to maintain competitiveness and adapt to the evolving demands of the workforce,” the announcement says. The study contains data from 103 company responses, which are divided into categories specific to manufacturers and system installers/integrators.

Inside FAST’s 2024 Security Industry Compensation Study

The responses for the 2024 Security Industry Compensation Study came from across the United States and around the world and include companies with revenues ranging from less than $5 million to more than $50 million annually.

Respondents range in size from fewer than 20 to more than 500 full-time employees.

“In an ever-evolving landscape where attracting, retaining, and nurturing top talent is paramount, access to reliable data is the cornerstone of informed decision-making,” says Aiden O’Brien, executive director of FAST, in the foundation announcement.

“Seventy percent of system integrators indicated that technician roles are the most difficult to hire for,” he says. “This report is critical in helping alleviate that burden by providing the industry with crucial compensation data.”
