You have until Monday, Sept. 18 to share your thoughts on the home automation industry, your place in it and the future of your steadily increasing corner of the world. The yearly research project, done in partnership with Parks Associates, aims to gain valuable insights on crucial aspects of residential security.

Among the areas we’ll explore in the 2023 Home Automation Deep Dive are:

  • Challenges security dealers are facing in today’s economy
  • How dealers are adapting to the market for self-installed and self-monitored security options
  • The role of smart devices and components in security systems
  • And much more!

More About the 2023 Home Automation Deep Dive Survey

Critical topics explored in this year’s Home Automation Deep Dive survey include:

  • The most important business drivers/barriers dealers face today
  • Strategies for overcoming staffing challenges
  • The smart home devices most in demand during the initial sale and as an aftermarket upgrade
  • Dealer perspectives on how the Matter standard will impact their business
  • Dealer opinion on the potential impact of AI on the industry

Security Sales & Integration will explore the results of this year’s survey in the November/December 2023 print issue as well as on SecuritySales.com

“In 2023, dealers face a rocky road,” says Jennifer Kent, vice president of research for Parks Associates. “Lower home sales combine with inflation to temper consumer spending while DIY products continue to compete with security systems for consumers’ wallet.

“Dealers are branching out into new areas to bolster revenues and to find applications that require or value professional installation and monitoring. In this 11th annual survey conducted jointly by SSI and Parks Associates, we investigate how dealers see the market today and the strategies that show opportunity for growth,” she says.
